For an exciting client in the rail vehicle sector, I am currently looking for a Senior Fleet Engineer / Technical Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Further development and safeguarding of maintenance strategies for urban and rail vehicle fleets
• Translation of manufacturer and operator requirements into concrete maintenance, inspection, and upkeep processes
• Creation and evaluation of FMEA, risk analyses, and technical deviation assessments
• Development and optimization of inspection and monitoring concepts
• Coordination of cooperation with inspection bodies, experts, and non-destructive testing (NDT)
• Ensuring complete, traceable, and audit-proof technical documentation
• Planning, control, and follow-up of complex technical modification and vehicle programs
• Setup and control of change requests, including evaluation, approval, implementation, and documentation
• Responsibility for schedule, risk, cost, and capacity management of technical measures
• Preparation of technical documents for operations management, authorities, and experts
• Support of approval, release, and recommissioning processes
• Close collaboration with work preparation, workshop, quality, safety, purchasing, and operations management
• Ensuring the transfer of technical requirements into implementable work instructions and workshop processes

Requirements

This is explicitly not a purely operational role in commissioning, service, or troubleshooting. The focus is on strategic technical responsibility for a vehicle fleet.

• Several years of professional experience in the technical management of rail vehicles, light rail vehicles, trams, or subways
• Sound knowledge in the areas of BOStrab, EBO, ECM, as well as relevant technical standards and regulations
• Experience in technical proof of compliance and in the creation and evaluation of FMEA and risk analyses
• Demonstrable experience in technical change management (change requests) and in managing complex vehicle projects
• Experience in dealing with technical supervisory authorities, experts, approval, and authorization processes is an advantage
• Ability to transfer technical requirements into structured measures for work preparation and workshops
• Strong interface competence between vehicle technology, workshop, quality management, and operational organization
• Structured, reliable, and solution-oriented way of working
• High degree of technical personal responsibility and strong communication skills
• Very good German language skills (C1)
