Job description
Seeking a Senior/Lead UX Designer to professionalize and position UX within the organization, combining expertise with advisory skills, stakeholder management, and leadership. The role involves guiding UX quality, advising stakeholders, building relationships, and initiating UX research.

You combine substantive UX expertise with advisory skills, stakeholder management, and leadership, and work independently on a defined professionalization and improvement task. The assignment includes: Providing direction for UX and monitoring quality and coherence across various digital services and projects. Advising management, clients, product owners, and other stakeholders on UX and user-centered service delivery. Building relationships and creating support for UX within different organizational units. Connecting the interests of the user, business, policy, and IT. Initiating and stimulating UX research and ensuring that insights are used in decision-making. Developing and improving UX frameworks, working methods, and standards. Contributing to design systems and consistent interaction patterns. Coaching and substantively guiding UX specialists; facilitating workshops and work sessions; reducing complex issues to clear choices; identifying opportunities and independently initiating projects. The Senior / Lead UX Designer operates within agreed frameworks and has no formal hierarchical responsibility. The assignment focuses on substantive direction, concrete professionalization results, and transferable working methods. The contractor operates between strategy and execution and ensures that UX insights and standards are demonstrably applied in decision-making and digital service delivery. Requirements Candidate possesses at least HBO work and thinking level. Experience within the government. Candidate possesses at least 5 years of work experience as a UX Designer, including demonstrable experience at a senior/lead level. Candidate possesses demonstrable experience with developing and implementing UX frameworks, working methods, standards, or design systems. Demonstrable experience with increasing UX maturity within an organization, for example, by developing and implementing UX working methods, standards, design systems, and/or governance, and coaching UX professionals. Demonstrable experience with UX research, evidence-based design, design systems, and digital accessibility. Extent to which the candidate possesses the required competencies and skills (verifiable in CV, motivation, and/or possible interview). Extent of experience and/or affinity with the client organization.
