Job Description

I am looking for an experienced Senior License Manager (m/f/d) for a client to provide consulting and operational support for an IT project in the area of license and contract management.

The focus is on the technical support of the sub-project "Licenses". This includes clarifying license requirements, coordinating license procurement, and transferring existing license inventories from an IT service provider. Furthermore, you will ensure compliance with relevant license and contract specifications and support the optimization of license models, contract structures, and processes.

You will work at the interface between IT, business departments, purchasing, and external service providers, contributing to the transparent management of license inventories, reduction of compliance risks, and identification of cost potentials.

Responsibilities

• Consulting and operational support for the sub-project "Licenses"
• Recording, analyzing, and coordinating IT license requirements from business departments and the project environment
• Managing license procurement and transferring existing license inventories from an IT service provider
• Ensuring license and contract compliance for hardware, software, cloud solutions, maintenance, and IT operations
• Maintaining and managing license inventories, contract data, and associated Jira tickets
• Coordinating the deployed license management and contract management systems, as well as clarifying interfaces for license measurement
• Analyzing and optimizing license models, contracts, and license management processes
• Identifying savings potentials and developing measures for cost optimization
• Technical support for contract negotiations

• Completed degree in (Business) Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a comparable qualification
• At least three years of professional experience in IT license management, IT contract management, and IT procurement; experience in the energy industry is an advantage
• Knowledge in license management for server and infrastructure environments, databases, as well as SaaS and cloud solutions
• Experience with license processes and license measurement, especially for data center applications and databases
• Profound knowledge of common license models and methods for license optimization
• Confident use of at least one marketable Software Asset Management or license management tool, such as Flexera, Raynet, USU, Snow, or Matrix42
• Ability to systematically analyze and keep track of complex contract structures, risks, and deadlines
• Basic knowledge of IT law and data protection is desirable
• Fluent German and very good English skills
• Independent, structured way of working, as well as strong communication and negotiation skills
• Project start: 01.12.2026
• Project duration: approx. 7 months
• Workload: approx. 20–30 hours per week
