Project overview

For a long-term IT project with a client from the public sector in the Stuttgart region, we are looking for several experienced Senior Middleware Engineers (m/f/d) on a freelance basis.

The focus is on the stable and secure operation as well as the further development of complex Linux-based middleware, web, and platform services.

The specialists deployed will independently take over their areas of responsibility and will be involved in the conception, further development, and implementation of technical solutions, in addition to ongoing operations.

• Administration, operation, and continuous development of Linux-based middleware, web, and platform services
• Operation and support of JBoss/WildFly, Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, and NGINX
• Administration and support of PostgreSQL and MariaDB in the middleware environment
• Monitoring of productive platforms using Prometheus, Zabbix, or comparable monitoring solutions
• Error analysis and troubleshooting of productive middleware and platform environments
• Planning and execution of deployments, changes, and migrations
• Implementation and further development of security hardening measures
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation and operating concepts
• Independent support of the systems and services responsible
• Participation in the conception and implementation of technical solutions
• Several years of relevant experience in Linux and middleware operation
• Profound knowledge of JBoss/WildFly, Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, and NGINX
• Experience with PostgreSQL and MariaDB
• Practical knowledge in monitoring with Prometheus, Zabbix, or comparable solutions
• Experience in troubleshooting productive platforms
• Knowledge in carrying out deployments, changes, and migrations
• Experience with security hardening in Linux-based environments
• Experience in creating technical documentation and operating concepts
• Profound knowledge in the Linux and open-source environment
• Independent, structured, and self-responsible way of working
• German language skills at least C1 level (mandatorily required)
• Willingness for occasional on-site assignments in the Stuttgart region
• Existing security clearance or willingness to undergo a security clearance
