Senior Payroll Specialist SAP ECP

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist for a project in the German-speaking region. You will act as a subject matter expert for Austrian payroll in an SAP ECP implementation project.

Your responsibilities include gathering and documenting business requirements for Austrian payroll, including gross-to-net calculations, statutory reporting, and year-end payroll activities. You will conduct and prepare workshops with various stakeholders and document the results. A significant part of your work involves translating Austrian payroll laws, collective agreements, and legal obligations into clear, testable requirements.

You will review the implementation partner's solution proposals, identify gaps and risks, and prepare decision papers. Through structured stakeholder management skills, you will drive open issues to closure and escalate when necessary. Additionally, you will define business test scenarios and acceptance criteria, particularly for payroll parallel runs.

You bring at least 8 years of experience in Austrian payroll, including legal, procedural, and compliance aspects. Practical knowledge of SAP ECP and SAP HCM Payroll for Austria is required. You have proven experience in conducting requirements workshops and creating Business Requirement Documents. Fluent German and English skills are necessary.

The project runs from November 2026 to March 2027, with a scope of 28 hours per week. The work is 95% remote with occasional on-site workshops in Austria and Germany.
