Senior Platform Engineer (Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform)

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Platform Engineer for an international project in the field of Cloud Infrastructure and Data Platform. You will work as part of an innovative team on the architecture and implementation of a cloud-native, self-service platform based on Azure, orchestrating over 70 best-in-class open-source and managed services.

Your responsibilities include designing detailed platform solutions based on Azure, Kubernetes, and Terraform, implementing Infrastructure-as-Code with OpenTofu and Crossplane v2, and managing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and progressive deployment strategies via Argo Rollouts. You will create Azure Data Factory pipelines, operate and scale Kubernetes clusters on AKS, using advanced network technologies such as Cilium, Istio Ambient Mesh, and Kong. Furthermore, you will conduct incident response and mentor Platform and SRE Engineers.

We expect many years of project experience as a Platform Engineer with a focus on Azure and Kubernetes (AKS). You should have extensive experience with Terraform, IaC tools (OpenTofu/Crossplane v2), and modern CI/CD systems. Experience with Kafka, Databricks, and Kong is advantageous. International project experience in large organizations and fluent English skills are required.

The project starts in November with a duration of at least three months and possible rolling extensions. The position is 100 percent remote and advertised as a full-time engagement. Fast decision-making processes allow for a quick start.
