Senior Software Engineer Java / Spring Boot & Cloud

Responsibilities

For our client, we are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer with a focus on Java, Spring Boot, and Cloud technologies.

In this versatile role, you will be responsible for the further development, modernization, and operation of business-critical applications. A particular focus is on spatial information systems (RIS), the further development of existing software architectures, and the setup and long-term support of Business Intelligence solutions with Power BI.

You will work in an agile Scrum team within a SAFe environment and, together with various development teams, shape the technological advancement of the application landscape.

• Further development and modernization of existing applications based on Java and Spring Boot
• Active participation in shaping the software architecture in the area of spatial information systems (RIS)
• Ensuring the stable operation and continuous optimization of existing applications
• Further development and support of Business Intelligence solutions with Microsoft Power BI
• Participation in the modernization of applications and their integrations
• Optimization of existing processes and ensuring the long-term substance of the applications
• Collaboration with interdisciplinary development teams within an Agile Release Train (ART)
• Active participation in a Scrum team according to SAFe

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in software development with Java and Spring Boot
• Several years of practical experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Jenkins
• Experience in development with .NET and Angular
• Sound knowledge of relational databases, especially SQL and Oracle
• Very good knowledge of Git, PowerShell, Bash, IntelliJ, and Keycloak
• Practical experience with Microsoft Power BI, especially:
• Dataflows and semantic models
• Dedicated Gateways
• Development and creation of reports
• Experience with agile development methods, especially SAFe
• Structured, independent, and organized way of working
• Fluent German and very good English skills
• Experience with ArgoCD and Tekton (nice-to-have)
• Knowledge of complex IT and software architectures in the railway infrastructure environment (nice-to-have)
• Expertise in train control and project planning of safety systems (nice-to-have)
• Experience with Windows servers and Windows GUI applications (nice-to-have)
