Senior Software Tester (Manual + Automation) | Playwright + TypeScript

We are RST Software. We have been operating in the technology industry since 1998, and currently focus on modernizing existing systems and platforms and using AI in the software development process.

We combine engineering experience with proprietary tools and an AI-native development approach, helping companies develop and modernize the systems their business relies on.

We are looking for an experienced tester who combines manual testing with automation well. We want someone who knows Playwright and TypeScript, can ensure test quality, and knows when it's worth automating something and when it's better to check it manually.

What will you be working on?

At RST, we carry out various modernization projects. Some of them involve developing new modules, others involve rebuilding existing applications and gradually replacing older solutions.

In such projects, both thorough testing of new functionalities and checking whether the introduced changes do not affect the operation of other parts of the system are important.

Therefore, we combine manual testing with automation. Manual tests, including exploratory tests, are a constant part of our work, and we develop automation where it helps to detect errors more effectively and reduce the risk of regression.

We use Playwright and TypeScript for this, and we also run automated tests within CI/CD.

How do we work?

In our projects, we use established tools and testing methods. We plan the scope of work, agree on estimates, and communicate risks on an ongoing basis. We value predictability, especially in modernization projects where one change can affect many other system elements.

If you see that something can be tested more efficiently, better automated, or simplified, we would be happy to hear your idea. We value improvements that result from understanding the project and have a concrete justification.

In our daily work, we also use AI, including for analysis, test creation, and automation. We want someone who can leverage these capabilities but does not accept model outputs without verification.

• Preparing test scenarios and test cases.
• Functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
• Checking new functionalities and changes in existing applications.
• Reporting bugs, analyzing problems, and re-verifying after fixes.
• Creating, developing, and maintaining automated tests in Playwright and TypeScript.
• Developing a test framework based on the Page Object Model.
• Selecting areas that are worth automating.
• Increasing test coverage and ensuring their stability and maintainability.
• Configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
• Running automated tests in pipelines.
• Analyzing problems together with developers.
• Communicating risks and proposing improvements in the testing approach.
• Using AI to support tests and automation.
• Form: B2B contract for an indefinite period.
• Settlement: hourly rate.
• Location: Lower Silesian Voivodeship. We cooperate mainly remotely, but we also meet at the office in Wrocław, usually once a month.

• Preparing test scenarios and test cases, and performing functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
• Verifying new functionalities and changes in existing applications.
• Selecting scenarios worth automating, and ensuring test stability and maintainability.
• Configuring and developing CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
• Analyzing technical problems together with developers.
• Agreeing on estimates, communicating risks, and proposing improvements in testing.
• Using AI to support analysis, test preparation, and automation.
• Has at least 6 years of experience in software testing, including at least 3 years in automation.
• Has a very good command of Playwright and TypeScript from commercial projects.
• Has solid experience in manual testing of web applications.
• Knows the Page Object Model and can create clear, easy-to-maintain tests.
• Has independently configured CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
• Has experience with REST API testing, e.g., in Postman.
• Has used test case management tools, e.g., Qase or similar.
• Can clearly describe bugs, analyze problems, and communicate risks.
• Is comfortable working according to established processes and can propose improvements to them.
• Uses AI in testing or automation and can critically evaluate its results.
• Communicates fluently in Polish and English (minimum B2).

Nice to have

• Experience in a software house or startup.
• Experience in testing applications based on Next.js, including Server Side Rendering.
• Experience in projects with a defined scope and budget (Fixed Price).
• Experience in modernizing or rewriting existing systems.
