Assignment Description

Within Defense, NLD JFC (Joint Force Command) of the Commander of the Armed Forces (CDS) is responsible for the planning and coordination of the military deployment of the armed forces. The J4 department of NLD JFC coordinates the logistical planning, preparation, and execution of military deployment. In addition to the regular tasks of Defense, Defense is undergoing a transition to S/4 HANA. Due to the heavy workload of this transition, additional capacity is needed to ensure the continuity of current business operations for Defense missions and deployments.

Therefore, Defense is looking for a senior specialist advisor for business operations and logistical information provision. The officer will perform activities within the logistical assessment section of NLD JFC department J4.

Activities:

As SAP is the most important logistical IT system, the employee combines in-depth SAP knowledge with Defense-specific process knowledge. They combine standard SAP knowledge with in-depth knowledge of the SAP module Defense Forces and Public Security. Additionally, the employee has insight into other logistical IT systems and advises on the application of these systems in the logistical process.

Therefore, experience with activities at NLD JFC or other relevant experience with planning and setting up Defense missions is a requirement.

Defense is seeking a Senior Specialist Advisor for Logistics IT and Business Operations for missions and deployments (SAP). Hiring an officer with sufficient SAP knowledge and relevant experience within Defense. The employee will compensate for the extra workload brought about by the transition of the ROGER program, in order to guarantee the continuity of business operations.

• Coordinating and providing (specialist) advice on the (strategic) planning for logistical IT setup of new Defense missions and deployments.
• Aligning the IT setup with user requirements and current processes within Defense.
• Directing a Defense-wide application, taking into account the interests of all Defense components in decision-making.
• IT setup includes, for example, organizational structure setup, chain setup, role allocation, warehouse setup (for ammunition), materiel management, and process automation.
• The officer is responsible for the substantive and operational management of the (senior) coordinators for materiel management and information provision, guiding and coaching other (senior) employees on various logistical processes.
• Communicating and defending (internally and externally) IT setup and processes.
• Changes in the geopolitical landscape and innovative developments influence the work and decisions.
• Analyzing (system) errors, reporting incidents, and documenting improvement proposals regarding the process or the setup of IT applications.
• Anticipates long-term business requirements, influences the improvement of efficiency and effectiveness of organizational processes.
• Determines the IS model and enterprise architecture in accordance with the organization's policy and ensures a secure environment.
• Makes strategic IS policy decisions for the enterprise, including sourcing strategies.
• Proposes, plans, and manages the functional development of the information system (IS) focused on user needs.
• Aligns the information system with the business strategy within their domain.
• Ensures continuous improvement, taking into account user requirements, service quality, and budgetary constraints.

The eCF profile indicates which competencies and at what level (e-1 to e-5) are expected from the candidate.
