Job description

We are seeking a freelance professional to independently manage and develop our law firm's WordPress websites, focusing on improving online visibility and generating qualified leads. This role involves technical SEO, content optimization, and local SEO, with approximately 20 hours per week and the possibility of a permanent position.

Project overview

Approximately 20 hours per week · Berlin/Remote · Freelance with potential for permanent employment

Anyone seeking legal support as an employee or works council member typically starts their search on the internet today. That's where we want to be visible – with the right content and for the people who need our advice.

For over 25 years, Bechert Rechtsanwälte has exclusively represented employees and works councils. Our clients find us via arbeitsrecht-berlin.de, betriebsrat-berlin.de, and other websites, in German and increasingly in English. Our sites run on WordPress, partly with Elementor.

Our agency manages the basic technical structure, and that will remain the case. What we need is someone who stays on top of things: who recognizes where we are missing visibility, develops ideas, and implements them themselves.

What you will do with us

You will take over the ongoing management and further development of our websites with the goal of improving our visibility and attracting more qualified client inquiries.

It starts with looking at the numbers: How are rankings, visitor numbers, and inquiries developing? From this, you will develop a plan, set priorities, and get to work – independently in WordPress and Elementor or together with our agency.

You will optimize existing pages, improve internal linking and user navigation, and further develop our service pages. Those who want to book an appointment should be able to do so as easily as possible. You will also keep an eye on the integration of Calendly, Zoom, and other services.

The tasks also include our visibility outside our own websites: Google Business Profiles, lawyer directories, review and specialist portals, meaningful link building, and increasingly, findability in AI-powered search systems. At the turn of the year, our firm will move, requiring all location information to be updated.

You will also manage our English-language sites and support new service pages and blog articles. If you enjoy writing yourself, even better. However, the focus is on technical and strategic development, not content creation. We will handle the legal review.

You will regularly discuss what works, what doesn't, and what's next with us – understandably and without jargon. What matters to us is not just reach, but how many qualified client inquiries and appointment bookings result from it.

What you bring

You have already managed websites independently and can show what has improved through your work – ideally with concrete numbers.

You are proficient in WordPress and Elementor, even with custom-designed pages. Technical SEO, on-page optimization, keyword research, and Google Search Console are part of your skillset. You are also familiar with local SEO, directory management, and link building.

You speak German very well and English well, understand the perspective of website visitors, and have a feel for what turns a visit into an inquiry.

Above all, you work independently, identify problems, set priorities, and contribute your own suggestions. Experience with law firms or other service-intensive businesses is welcome, but not a requirement.

How we work together

We are looking for a long-term collaboration of approximately 20 hours per week. Initially on a freelance basis, with the possibility of later permanent employment if it suits both parties.

You will organize your work largely independently and work predominantly remotely. Especially at the beginning, however, we would like to exchange ideas in person regularly, and from January 2027, in our new office directly opposite the Berlin Labor Court.

You will work directly with the lawyers who also make the decisions. We have short communication lines, are open to new ideas, and want someone who truly helps shape our online presence.

An early start is possible.

Interested?

Then write to us at *@*.de.

Briefly tell us who you are and show us one or two projects you are proud of. We are particularly interested in the improvements you were able to achieve there.

We also look forward to information about your experience with WordPress and Elementor, your possible start date, your availability, your hourly rate, and how often you could be on-site in Berlin at the beginning.
