Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Remote and Berlin

For one of our major clients, we are currently looking for support that meets the following requirements:

For the quality assurance and further development of a backend software solution, we are looking for an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer in Test. The focus is on the conception, development, and execution of automated and manual tests at unit, integration, and system levels. The activity combines software development with test automation and quality assurance in an agile and international environment.

Responsibilities

• Conception, development, and execution of test plans and test cases
• Execution of automated and manual tests at unit, integration, and system levels
• Analysis of existing and new features, processes, and user flows
• Development of comprehensive test scenarios to ensure functionality, performance, and usability
• Identification of edge cases, rare error situations, and technical dependencies
• Analysis and resolution of error causes as well as development of suitable test solutions
• Further development and implementation of test automation strategies
• Collaboration with agile and cross-functional development teams
• Support and mentoring in the area of test automation and testing best practices
• Integration of automated tests into existing CI/CD pipelines
• Execution of API, database, and security tests

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in software testing, test automation, or software development
• Very good knowledge of backend technologies such as .NET Core, C#, Python, or Java
• Experience in the development and implementation of test strategies across multiple projects
• Very good knowledge of modern frontend frameworks such as React and Angular
• Sound experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, TestNG, Appium, or comparable technologies
• Knowledge of databases and SQL for checking data integrity
• Experience with the integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Very good knowledge of Git
• Experience with RESTful web services and API testing
• Knowledge and practical experience in security testing
• Very good English skills, both written and spoken
• Willingness to collaborate with international teams across different time zones
• Location: Remote (50%) and Berlin/Grünheide (50%)
