• Min. 6 years of experience in development platforms, internal developer environments, platform engineering, and/or developer experience with own responsibility for results
• Min. 6 years of experience in analyzing and evaluating grown development environments and workflows, including existing makeshift solutions, as well as identifying and resolving their root causes
• Min. 6 years of experience with standardized and reproducible development environments, including their updating in environments without network connectivity
• Min. 6 years of experience with the on-demand provisioning of development and test environments as well as self-service approaches
• Min. 6 years of experience in handling test data, including anonymization or synthetic data generation, as well as the separation of development, test, and production
• Min. 6 years of experience in collecting and using flow metrics such as lead time, feedback duration, and change frequency for optimizing development processes
• Min. 6 years of experience in direct collaboration with development teams as a user group, particularly in requirements gathering, introduction support, and handling acceptance issues
• Min. 6 years of experience in securing development workstations and source code access, especially in isolated or restrictedly connected environments
• Min. 6 years of relevant experience in developer experience / development platforms, as well as proven practical experience with tools from several of the following areas:
• Development Environments: Dev Containers, Coder, Eclipse Che, Nix, virtual development workstations, etc.
• Developer Portals and Environment Provisioning: Backstage, Argo CD, Crossplane, Terraform, etc.
• Source Code Management: GitLab, Forgejo/Gitea, Bitbucket Data Center, etc.
• Test Data Preparation: PostgreSQL Anonymizer, Datanymizer, Faker, or comparable generator-based methods
• Monitoring/Metrics: Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
• Building internal developer platforms in a public cloud environment and experience in transferring corresponding approaches to self-operated infrastructures
• Creation of introductory and training materials as well as support for user communities
• Development work under special requirements for data storage and function separation
• Accessibility and workstation ergonomics in regulated environments

Service Description

• Analysis and evaluation of existing development workflows, development environments, and existing makeshift solutions
• Conception of a standardized target environment for software development, including provisioning, access, environment separation, and test data supply
• Design of development environments for different network and security zones, some without direct network access
• Conception and implementation of self-service processes for the provisioning of development and test environments
• Ensuring clean separation of development, test, and production environments
• Conception of secure handling of production and test data, including anonymization or synthetic data generation
• Design and security of development workstations and access to source code
• Practical implementation of the developed concepts with one to two development teams in the pilot area
• Support for the development teams in introducing and using the new development environment
• Collection and evaluation of flow metrics such as lead time, feedback duration, and change frequency for continuous optimization of developer experience
• Development of a roadmap for the subsequent integration of further development teams and zone types
