For a leading company in the energy and network infrastructure sector, we are looking for an experienced freelance consultant (m/f/d) for the strategic further development of purchasing and procurement strategies in the areas of civil engineering for substations and medium and low voltage (MV/LV).

The goal of the project is to optimize procurement, awarding, and supplier strategies across multiple network companies. The focus is on economic efficiency, security of supply, and long-term capacity assurance.

Responsibilities

Civil Engineering for Substations

Medium and Low Voltage (MV/LV)

• Further development of existing purchasing and category management strategies
• Development and evaluation of procurement, awarding, and contract models (framework agreements, project business, and hybrid models)
• Development of bundling and lot strategies for substation projects
• Evaluation of regional and supra-regional awarding concepts
• Development of recommendations for supplier segmentation and supplier management
• Analysis of market and competitive situations
• Conception of capacity assurance measures, including capacity reservation and supplier development models
• Development of strategies for early awarding and long-term partnerships
• Analysis of existing purchasing and procurement structures
• Identification of strategic fields of action
• Development of awarding, lot, and procurement strategies
• Analysis of supplier and competitive structures
• Development of capacity and supply assurance strategies
• Design of economic steering and procurement models
• Harmonization of purchasing approaches across multiple network companies

• Several years of experience in strategic purchasing, procurement, or category management
• Demonstrable project experience in the energy, infrastructure, network, or construction environment
• Sound knowledge in the areas of:
• Civil engineering
• Substations
• Medium and low voltage networks
• Awarding strategies
• Supplier management
• Category management
• Experience in the development and implementation of complex purchasing strategies
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills
• Experience with energy suppliers, network operators, or infrastructure companies is an advantage
• Fluent German language skills
• Projects with electricity network operators or energy supply companies
• Procurement of construction services and electrical infrastructure
• Strategic supplier development
• Cost optimization programs
