Senior Procurement Strategy Consultant – Energy Infrastructure & Grid Development

For a transformation and infrastructure program in the energy sector, we are looking for an experienced Senior Procurement Strategy Consultant to support the further development of purchasing and procurement strategies in the area of grid infrastructure. The focus is on high and low voltage construction services for substations as well as procurement strategies for medium and low voltage projects.

The consultant will support the analysis of existing procurement models, develop strategic recommendations for action, and contribute in-depth market and industry experience to optimize tendering, supplier, and capacity strategies.

Responsibilities

• Further development and optimization of purchasing and category strategies for infrastructure and grid construction projects
• Analysis of existing procurement and tendering structures and derivation of strategic recommendations for action
• Development and evaluation of procurement, contract, and tendering models (framework agreements, project business, hybrid models)
• Definition and evaluation of lot and bundling strategies for infrastructure projects
• Analysis of supplier and competitive structures and development of corresponding supplier strategies
• Development of measures for long-term capacity and supply security
• Identification of potential for cost optimization and increase in economic efficiency
• Conducting market analyses and benchmarking of relevant procurement markets
• Advising specialist and purchasing departments on strategic procurement decisions
• Creation of decision bases and presentations for management stakeholders

Requirements

Desirable Qualifications

• Several years of experience in strategic purchasing, procurement consulting, or category management
• Experience in the energy, infrastructure, construction, or utility sector
• In-depth knowledge in the development of procurement, tendering, and supplier strategies
• Experience with complex tendering and contract models
• Good knowledge of supplier management and analysis of procurement markets
• Experience in transformation, optimization, or consulting projects
• Analytical and conceptual strength as well as strong stakeholder management skills
• Very good German and English language skills
• Experience in the environment of electricity grid operators, energy suppliers, or infrastructure projects
• Knowledge in the area of substations, grid construction, medium and low voltage
• Background from a management consultancy or a strategic purchasing organization
• Experience in conducting market and supplier evaluations
