Seeking a System Developer to provide expert support for decommissioning old Office file formats, focusing on converting Excel macros and VBA scripts. The role also involves developing inventory and auto-conversion systems and collaborating on statistical processing.
Project overview
We are looking for a System Developer for our client. The assignment involves expert support for decommissioning old Office file formats, with a particular focus on converting Excel macros and VBA scripts. The work also includes further development of systems for inventory and auto-conversion, as well as collaboration on statistical processing in SAS.
Requirements
Advanced knowledge of Excel and its functions.
Ability to practically apply programming concepts such as variables, loops, conditions, and functions at an advanced level.
Expertise in macros and VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), including code review, debugging, and workflow automation.
Knowledge of Office scripts, including action recording and understanding of TypeScript for advanced scripts.
Security awareness regarding differences between VBA and Office scripts.
Platform-independent thinking with the ability to propose solutions for macros, VBA scripts, and Office scripts.
Knowledge of differences between old and new Office formats and methods for conversion.
Experience handling metadata from Office files to support automatic conversion.
Ability to develop in other programming languages such as PowerShell and .NET for conversion and modification of solutions.
Good social skills for extensive user contact.
Experience with the NSS tool.
At least 4 years of experience with VB scripts and PowerShell in the last six years.
At least 4 years of experience working with the Office suite, such as technical expertise in installations and patching, in the last six years.
At least 1 year of experience in converting Office formats in the last six years.

December 18, 2026 | Scope: 60–80% | Duration: Until December 17, 2027, with the possibility of extension for a maximum of 12 months | Location: Hybrid (remote work possible most of the time, but travel to Örebro and Solna is required)
