System Engineer Mainframe - z/OS Connect

Project overview

For one of our end clients, we are currently looking for a freelance System Engineer Mainframe - z/OS Connect.

Responsibilities

• Planning, installation, maintenance, and operation of IBM z/OS Connect EE systems
• Integration of business-critical mainframe systems into modern applications and cloud services via APIs
• Development and optimization of highly available system and integration architectures
• Error analysis and troubleshooting in 3rd level support in collaboration with internal and external partners
• Creation and maintenance of technical standards, security policies, and authentication and authorization concepts
• Consulting internal and external contacts on API and integration solutions

• Practical professional experience with IBM z/OS Connect EE in highly available mainframe environments
• Profound knowledge of IBM WebSphere Liberty on z/OS
• Knowledge of OpenAPI 2.0/3.0 and ideally REST APIs and JSON
• Experience with z/OS software products, Unix System Services (USS) and shell scripting
• Basic knowledge of mainframe backend systems such as CICS, IMS, IBM MQ, or Db2 is an advantage
• ITIL knowledge or willingness to learn
• Independent and structured way of working as well as good communication skills
• Willingness to work on weekends
• Location: Remote

• Utilization: Approx. 25 hours per week
