Project overview

Context

Our client, a major player in online consumer insurance, is launching a complete overhaul of its mobile application. It is moving to native iOS and Android, without an abstraction layer, for its critical user journeys: subscription, strong authentication, claim reporting with photos, and payment.

This overhaul is based on a mobile BFF (Backend for Frontend) to be built. It will absorb the heterogeneity of the historical IT system and expose APIs adapted to mobile usage.

Soft skills: team spirit and sharing, curiosity, autonomy, rigor, attention to detail, analytical and synthesis skills.

Technical environment: Swift, SwiftUI, Kotlin, .NET/C#, Azure, REST APIs, Azure DevOps (mobile CI/CD), Dynatrace, ELK. The existing system is in webview (Flutter, React Native).

• Define and guarantee the architecture of iOS and Android apps, and their convergence
• Anticipate Apple and Google's annual evolutions (OS, SDK, store rules)
• Design and develop the BFF in .NET/C# on Azure
• Guarantee the technical-functional boundary and backward compatibility of contracts, as several app versions coexist
• Define API contracts with the domain teams and converge the park towards business-oriented APIs
• Secure the release cadence: feature flags, progressive deployments
• Be responsible for the build chain, automated tests, and end-to-end observability
• Upskill engineers (code reviews, pair programming)
• Translate technical constraints for the Product, Design, and Marketing teams
