Project overview

We are now looking for a technical project manager for a consulting assignment with our client in the defense and aerospace industry in Linköping. The assignment involves leading complex development projects with a focus on software development for embedded and safety-critical systems.

We are looking for someone with relevant experience in project management within software development and a good technical understanding of platform-close software, operating systems, and system integration.

About the assignment

As a project manager, you are responsible for planning, leading, coordinating, and following up on development projects throughout the entire product lifecycle, from concept and requirements to implementation, integration, verification, validation, and maintenance of deployed systems.

You have overall responsibility for the project's schedule, budget, quality, and deliveries, and report continuously to the steering committee and management.

Responsibilities

Leading, planning, and coordinating complex development projects, including resources and execution.

Coordinating activities within system architecture, software development, development environments, integration, testing, verification, validation, and declaration of safety-critical systems.

Ensuring effective collaboration between development teams, operations, the test organization, and other stakeholders.

Following up on the project's schedule, budget, risks, quality, and deliveries.

Managing requirements, technical risks, milestones, and delivery plans.

Leading and coordinating development teams in different locations.

Reporting project status, risks, and deviations to the steering committee and management.

Contributing to technical priorities and well-founded decisions in close collaboration with the development teams.

The scope of the assignments may vary over time. You may be responsible for an entire development project, lead parts of a larger project, or work with, for example, feasibility studies and calculations.

We are looking for someone who has:

Several years of relevant experience in project management within software development.

Experience in leading development projects in complex technical environments.

Good technical understanding of platform-close software and operating systems.

Experience in system integration and verification of complex systems.

Understanding of development processes that include requirements, design, implementation, integration, verification, and validation.

Ability to combine project management competence with technical understanding to challenge, prioritize, and make well-founded decisions together with development teams and other stakeholders.

Experience in planning, coordinating, and following up on projects regarding time, budget, risks, and deliveries.

Good communication skills and experience in collaborating with various functions and stakeholders.
