Job description
The German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) is seeking a Technical Assistant for their Pre-GMP Peptide Unit. The role involves peptide synthesis, purification, characterization, and quality management within a research and clinical production environment.
Project overview
The German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) is one of the largest cancer research centers in Europe. "Research for a life without cancer" is our mission, and our world-class scientists work together with all employees to achieve this.
We research how cancer develops, identify cancer risk factors, and search for new strategies to prevent people from getting cancer. We develop new methods to diagnose tumors more precisely and treat cancer patients more successfully. Every contribution counts – whether in research, administration, or infrastructure. This makes our daily work so meaningful and exciting.
For our Pre-GMP Peptide Unit in the Clinical Cooperation Unit (KKE) "Applied Tumor Immunology" (Head Prof. Dr. Jager), we are looking for a Technical Assistant (m/f/d) in Peptide Synthesis starting January 2027.
Reference Number:
The KKE "Applied Tumor Immunology" works on the development of individualized immunotherapy strategies, particularly adoptive T-cell therapies. Synthetic peptides are necessary for the analysis of specific T-cell responses, which are produced in our Pre-GMP Peptide Lab. In parallel, the Peptide Unit team is currently establishing GMP-compliant peptide production and quality control for patient application within vaccination studies.
