Test and Cutover Lead

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced and driven Test and Cutover Lead for a comprehensive HR transformation program, where SAP SuccessFactors is being implemented in a large organization.

The program covers three main areas:

The goal is to create a unified, scalable, and modern HR platform that enables increased efficiency, a higher degree of automation, and common ways of working within the organization.

The program has already begun, and we are now seeking an experienced consultant who can take overall responsibility for the testing and cutover work. The role involves close collaboration with HR, IT, the business, the implementation partner, and external suppliers.

Assignment Description / Responsibilities

As Test and Cutover Lead, you are responsible for planning, leading, and coordinating test and cutover activities within the transformation program. You ensure structure, quality, and progress throughout the entire process, from test strategy and execution to production deployment.

• Harmonization and transformation of HR processes.
• Establishment of a new delivery model for future ways of working.

• Developing and managing an overall test strategy and an integrated test plan.
• Planning, coordinating, and leading all test phases, including data migration tests, system tests, integration tests, end-to-end tests of business processes, regression tests, and user acceptance tests (UAT).
• Ensuring the prerequisites for test execution, including test environments, test data, start and end criteria, and availability of relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinating test work between HR processes, systems, integrations, data migration, and relevant parts of the organization.
• Establishing and driving an effective defect management process, including prioritization, follow-up, and remediation of identified issues.
• Monitoring quality and ensuring transparent reporting of test progress, defects, risks, and overall quality status.
• Developing and being responsible for an integrated cutover plan that includes technical deployment, data migration, business preparations, dependencies, roles and responsibilities, cutover rehearsals, go/no-go decisions, and transition to production.
• Coordinating cutover activities between HR, IT, the implementation partner, external suppliers, and the business.
• Identifying, managing, and escalating risks, issues, and dependencies related to testing and cutover work.
• Producing status reports and decision documents for program management and the steering committee.
• Collaborating closely with HR, IT, the implementation partner, external suppliers, and business representatives.
• Documented experience in leading testing work in complex implementation programs within HCM or ERP.
• Documented experience in leading cutover activities on the client side in complex HCM or ERP programs.
• Experience with large-scale business and technology transformation programs.
• Experience in planning and coordinating multiple test phases covering systems, integrations, data migration, processes, and business users.
• Solid experience in defect management, quality assurance, risk management, and status reporting.
• Ability to work both strategically and operationally, and to take practical, hands-on responsibility when the situation requires it.
• Very good ability to manage stakeholders and communicate effectively, as well as to collaborate with HR, IT, the business, the implementation partner, and external suppliers.
• Fluent knowledge of English.
• Previous experience with implementation programs involving SAP SuccessFactors.
• Experience with multinational implementations or implementations involving multiple countries.
• Good knowledge of a Scandinavian language.
• Experience in taking over and establishing control over test or cutover activities in an ongoing program.
