Job description

Stedin is seeking an experienced Trainer for their Business Resources Register (BMR) Mobile application, which supports field technicians. The role involves preparing, delivering, and improving training for end-users to ensure successful adoption of new digital work methods.

Project overview

Stedin is looking for a Trainer BMR. (FREELANCER POSSIBLE - ONLY WITHOUT INTERMEDIARIES) Indicative hourly rate is €80,- all-in, excluding VAT.

Stedin is modernizing the Business Resources Register (BMR) and implementing BMR-Mobile: a mobile application that supports surveyors, mechanics, and contractors in directly registering, modifying, and recording asset data on location. This functionality is a significant accelerator for revisions, increases data quality, and contributes to safe, reliable, and future-proof network management.

The implementation of BMR-Mobile requires not only new technology but also new working methods in execution. Successful adoption depends on well-trained users who apply the application consistently in their daily work. The target audience is large and diverse. Almost all mechanics within Stedin, supplemented by support functions, will deal with the new working method. Digital skills, experience, and work context vary greatly among the different target groups.

To prepare the organization for implementation in a timely manner, there is a need for an experienced Trainer BMR-Mobile who is responsible for preparing, delivering, and continuously improving training for end-users. The trainer ensures that users not only understand how the application works but can also practically apply it within their daily work.

The trainer will start with an intensive train-the-trainer program in which they will be fully immersed in the functionality of BMR-Mobile, the underlying processes, and the operational context of the users.

Goal and Content of the Assignment

The goal of this assignment is to train all relevant end-users of BMR-Mobile so that they are prepared in time for the implementation of the new working method within the Maintenance, Business Projects, and Consumer chains. The contractor is responsible for preparing, delivering, and optimizing training for end-users. Close collaboration with subject matter experts, implementation consultants, and representatives from the line organization will be involved.

Within the project and the involved chains, there is a lot of in-depth knowledge about the processes, working methods, and functionalities of BMR-Mobile. However, specialized didactic expertise and experience in training large operational target groups are not a structural part of the organization. To carry out the extensive training task professionally and consistently, the contractor brings in this expertise.

The trainer works in a fixed duo setup with a subject matter expert. The subject matter expert brings the functional and process knowledge. The trainer brings the didactic knowledge, learning principles, and training methodology needed to effectively transfer this knowledge to the target group. Together, they ensure that participants not only understand how BMR-Mobile works but can also apply the application independently and correctly in their daily work.

The training sessions are delivered in a classroom setting to groups of approximately ten participants and consist in principle of two half-days. The trainer creates a safe and active learning environment where participants have sufficient space to practice and ask questions. Differences in knowledge level, digital skills, and learning needs are taken into account.

In addition to delivering training, the contractor actively contributes to improving training materials, processing feedback from practice, and embedding knowledge within the line organization. Helpdesk employees and other support roles are also prepared to provide support after go-live.

What You Bring

The assignment requires a Trainer BMR-Mobile with:

  • Demonstrable experience in delivering classroom training for operational target groups.
  • Strong didactic skills.
  • The ability to convey complex functionality and processes simply and practically.
  • Experience in training during change processes where new digital work methods are introduced.
  • The ability to create a safe and active learning environment.
  • Flexibility and energy in guiding groups with different knowledge levels and learning needs.
  • Good communication skills and persuasiveness.
  • Experience in developing and improving training materials.
  • The ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with subject matter experts and other stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Experience with the implementation of digital applications.
  • Affinity with the energy sector or a technical operational environment.
  • Experience in training helpdesk or support staff.
  • Experience with mobile applications or digital support for operational tasks.
