Job description

Project overview

Alba Partners is an independent, specialist consultancy with offices in Edinburgh, London and Dubai. We deliver complex, regulatory change for financial services and public sector clients, across risk, resilience and cyber, data, analytics and AI, and change and transformation.

Our work is senior led. The people who shape the strategy are the people who deliver it, and our leaders have worked inside the types of institutions we now advise. We have no product to sell, so our advice serves the client.

We are looking for an SME to work on ViewPoint and its associated business systems. You will own the application and provide SQL Server development, reporting, integrations and operational support for business-critical platforms.

Responsibilities

What you will bring

Desirable

  • Configure, maintain and support ViewPoint, including security, reporting and data management.
  • Troubleshoot application, configuration and data issues, and support upgrades and releases.
  • Design, develop and maintain SQL Server database solutions, including T-SQL, stored procedures, views and functions.
  • Optimise database performance and resolve data integrity and reconciliation issues.
  • Produce and support operational and management reporting.
  • Support integrations between ViewPoint and other enterprise systems, and build and maintain automation and data movement solutions.
  • Take part in Incident, Problem, Change and Release Management processes.
  • Significant experience supporting and administering enterprise business applications.
  • Strong SQL Server development experience, including T-SQL, stored procedures, views and functions.
  • Experience designing, supporting and optimising SQL databases.
  • Experience supporting business-critical reporting and data solutions.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex application, database and integration issues.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and with teams across the globe.
  • ViewPoint experience, training or certification.
  • C#/.NET development and PowerShell.
  • Azure data and integration technologies, such as Azure SQL, Data Factory and Logic Apps.
  • API integrations, ETL tools and automation technologies.
  • Experience in legal, professional services or financial services environments.
  • Microsoft SQL or Azure certifications, ITIL Foundation, and Agile or Scrum training.
