Project overview

Context

The "Record Keeping" department (data archiving and retention) is responsible for telephony solutions (including for trading activities) as well as the recording and archiving of all electronic and voice communications. This encompasses the architecture of new systems, daily operations, and the design and implementation of associated controls. The mission covers the complete lifecycle of the infrastructure used to capture, store, and manage all voice communications within a large international banking group, for the relevant populations.

Missions

• Ensure that every voice interaction is captured with total integrity (100%), stored securely, and remains accessible for regulatory purposes, through:
• Guaranteeing a robust architecture.
• Conducting Proofs of Concept (PoC).
• Producing high-quality technical documentation.
• Fostering knowledge sharing within the team, globally.
• Recording Infrastructure Engineering:
• Design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-wide voice recording platforms (e.g., Verint, NICE, Avaya Aura, or specialized middleware for capture).
• Managing integration between telephony/intercom systems (IPC, Cloud9, etc.) and the recording engine to ensure smooth audio stream capture.
• Monitoring the end-to-end recording flow, from real-time capture and encryption to daily batch exports.
• Optimizing the performance of recording servers and storage systems to handle massive volumes of high-fidelity audio data.
• Data Lifecycle Management and Compliance:
• Driving the technical roadmap for modernizing data archiving and retention systems.
• Overseeing global deployments to ensure consistent configuration and performance across all regional trading sites.
• Managing vendor relationships (Verint, NICE, etc.) regarding product roadmaps.
• Writing detailed technical documentation, including High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) specifications.
• Resilience and Production Support:
• Acting as a Tier 3 escalation point for critical incidents related to recording gaps, data loss, or recovery failures.
• Designing and testing robust Disaster Recovery (DR) and High Availability (HA) strategies to ensure no "blind spots" in voice communication recording.
• Implementing proactive monitoring to detect any degradation in audio quality, packet loss, or latency during capture.
• Cross-functional Integration:
• Partnering with Voice & Trading Voice engineers to ensure seamless connectivity between communication tools and recording platforms.
• Collaborating with Compliance and Legal teams to translate regulatory requirements into technical recording specifications.
• Collaborating with IT infrastructure and storage teams to manage the massive volume of data generated by global voice communication recording.
