Backend Developer Java / Jakarta EE

Project overview

For our client, we are looking for a Senior Backend Developer (Java/Jakarta EE) for the technical connection of an existing parental allowance solution to the national One-Only Technical System. The focus is on the conception and implementation of the technical connection, the integration of corresponding interfaces into the online service and the specialist procedure, as well as the definition and implementation of the required data structures.

An experienced Java Enterprise Developer with in-depth knowledge of Jakarta EE, JPA/Hibernate, EJB, and JSF/PrimeFaces, as well as experience in the design and further development of web services, is sought.

Responsibilities

Conception and implementation of the technical connection to the One-Only infrastructure

Integration of the required interfaces into the online service and the specialist procedure

Definition and implementation of the data structures to be provided

Design and further development of web services

Development and integration of REST-based interfaces

Ensuring compliance with legal, functional, and technical specifications

Participation in cloud, container, and microservice architectures

Quality assurance through automated tests, clean code, and code reviews

Must-have Skills

Java / Jakarta EE including JPA/Hibernate, 3–5 years of experience

EJB, 3–5 years of experience

JSF / PrimeFaces, 3–5 years of experience

Design and further development of web services, 1–3 years of experience

REST APIs as well as XML/JSON

Experience with relational databases

Maven and Git

Nice-to-have Skills

Angular, TypeScript, and HTML

Accessibility / a11y

Docker, Kubernetes, and Microservices

API-First Architectures

OpenAPI / Swagger

Apache Camel, Red Hat Fuse, and Quarkus

Willingness for code reviews and pair programming

Good coordination skills with functional and technical contacts
