Business Architect / Business Capability Manager

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Business Architect to design and manage the business capability landscape for a large corporate program. In this role, you will define and structure business capabilities, build a multi-level capability hierarchy, and establish corresponding governance frameworks. Your task is to connect business strategy with the operating model, processes, and technology.

This is a business-oriented architecture position, not a technical enterprise architecture role. You will collaborate with senior-level stakeholders, moderate workshops, and analyze complex dependencies.

Your experience should include:

The project is limited to 6 months with possible extension. The position is 100% remote and aimed at candidates in Europe. This is a freelance activity in the field of Digital Consultancy and IT Services.

• Proven hands-on experience in business capability modeling, including developing capability models from scratch
• Building and managing multi-level capability hierarchies and their governance frameworks
• Hands-on experience with LeanIX (strongly preferred)
• Background in large, complex corporate organizations
• Ability to translate business strategy into operating model, process, and technology implications
• Conducting capability assessments, gap analyses, and dependency mapping
• Confident senior-level stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills
• Signavio experience is a plus
