Data Engineer (Mid-Level)

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer for a growing technology department in Abu Dhabi. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance data platforms that support analytics, AI, and business-critical decision-making.

Your responsibilities include designing and building scalable data platforms for extensive analytics and operational loads. You will develop robust batch and real-time data pipelines for capturing, transforming, and processing structured and unstructured data. In doing so, you will optimize data architectures for business intelligence, advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI initiatives.

Another focus is on data security and quality: You will implement security controls such as encryption, masking, and access management. At the same time, you will establish data quality frameworks, validation rules, and governance controls. You will monitor platform performance, optimize scalability and operating costs, and resolve production issues.

Furthermore, you will work closely with product, engineering, data science, and analytics teams to deliver high-quality data solutions. You will support AI and data-driven initiatives by providing scalable datasets and data services.

We expect a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Data Engineering, or related fields, as well as 3-5 years of experience in Data Engineering or Big Data Engineering. You should have proven experience with enterprise-scale data platforms and a strong understanding of modern data engineering practices.
