- average 50% at the office and 50% at home Hours: 32 to 40 hours Start: as soon as possible Duration: expected 6 to 7 months, temporary cover for sickness and maternity leave Form: secondment This assignment seems less suitable for a freelance candidate For the Stationswerken Noord team, we are looking for an Engineer who contributes to the technical preparation of projects for the expansion, replacement, and new construction of distribution and medium-voltage substations. The Engineer is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and verifying technical designs and ensures that projects are technically feasible, safe, and transferable to realization. The work takes place within multidisciplinary project teams where close collaboration occurs with Technical Managers, Project Managers, Environmental Managers, and contractors. Activities
- Preparing, reviewing, and verifying Preliminary Designs (VO), Definitive Designs (DO), and Execution Designs (UO).
- Translating technical requirements into executable designs.
- Aligning design choices with internal stakeholders and contractors.
- Reviewing designs, calculations, and technical documentation from contractors.
- Providing input for permits and technical justifications.
- Supporting the transfer of projects to execution.
- Monitoring the quality and completeness of technical preparation.
- Identifying risks, deviations, and improvement opportunities.
- Contributing to the management of UAV-GC contracts.
- Providing technical support to project teams during the preparation phase. Result Areas The Engineer:
- Ensures timely and high-quality technical designs.
- Assesses contractors on ownership, quality, and preparation of work.
- Contributes to controlled project execution by timely identification of risks and technical bottlenecks.
- Supports the Technical Manager in decision-making, reporting, and technical considerations.
- Guarantees a good technical transfer to the execution phase. Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience with engineering and technical preparation within infrastructure, energy, or industrial projects.
- Experience with underground infrastructure LV and MV, preferably substation work.
- Experience with reviewing and verifying designs from contractors.
- Knowledge of project-based work within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with contract forms such as UAV-GC.
- Experience with managing external contractors is a plus.
- Familiarity with the preparation and realization of substation projects or comparable technical installations is a strong plus. Competencies
