Job description

As an Enforcement Lawyer VTH for the municipality of Krimpenerwaard, you will handle legal issues within the physical living environment, focusing on enforcement within environmental law. You will analyze violations, advise on appropriate actions, and ensure legal compliance while considering practical implications and stakeholder interests.

Project overview

Due to the DBA Act (Deregulation Assessment of Employment Relationships), it is not possible to invoice as a freelancer for this assignment. Matchd offers various types of employment. We are happy to discuss with you to see which employment best suits your wishes and situation. Feel free to contact us for more information and an explanation of the possibilities.

Can you picture it?

How do you ensure that the municipality acts carefully and decisively in case of violations? As an Enforcement Lawyer VTH at the municipality of Krimpenerwaard, you will find out. You will delve into legal issues, weigh different interests, and collaborate with colleagues on the right approach. You look beyond just the rules: you understand what is going on and know how to clearly communicate your legal advice. Do you recognize yourself in this? Then we are looking for you!

Responsibilities

As an Enforcement Lawyer VTH, you will work on issues within the physical living environment of the municipality of Krimpenerwaard. From non-compliance and illegal constructions to enforcement requests and complex cases involving various interests. You ensure that we act legally carefully, but without losing sight of the practice and the people behind a case.

You are responsible for the legal treatment and management of enforcement cases within environmental law. You analyze what is happening, determine the appropriate approach together with colleagues, and ensure that the case is legally and procedurally correct.

Specifically, this means you will, among other things:

So you don't have to wait until a complete file is on your desk. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, seeks out colleagues, and actively thinks along about the best approach.

What makes this role interesting?

Enforcement is rarely just a legal puzzle!

Behind a case, there are often different interests. A resident who wants clarity, an entrepreneur who wants to move forward, a neighbor experiencing nuisance, or an administrator who needs to explain why the municipality is acting or not acting. That's where your added value lies. You are legally sharp, but understand that a legally possible solution is not automatically the best solution. You can distinguish between main and side issues, dare to advise a clear course of action, and can explain it.

Within the VTH Team, you also work in the middle of the execution. The team consists of Front Office, Permitting, Supervision, and Enforcement, supplemented by quality and policy functions. In execution, there is also collaboration with other municipal advisors and chain partners.

You

You handle cases independently and take responsibility for the next steps. You translate laws and regulations into practical, understandable advice. You write clear decisions and letters that are legally correct. Even with conflicting interests or resistance, you continue to work carefully and dare to advise colleagues and management clearly, especially when the message is difficult. You work in a structured manner, maintain an overview of your cases, and actively seek collaboration with supervisors, permit officers, and other advisors.

About the team

You work within the Permits, Supervision, and Enforcement team. The team consists of approximately 30 colleagues and includes the front office, policy and quality, permitting, supervision, and enforcement departments.

The team works on a safe, healthy, and well-organized physical living environment. We are professionally involved, practical, and increasingly work based on coherent processes and clear priorities. As an enforcement lawyer, you collaborate with all parts of the team. Additionally, you have intensive contact with Spatial Development Advice and Legal Affairs.
