Environmental Supervisor (Subversion/Industrial)

Project overview

The Environmental Supervisor works independently, coordinates with stakeholders within the team and client as needed, and delivers the final product without hierarchical management or dependence on the team. There is freedom in the work method, location, and planning, provided the end result is delivered according to the assignment and on time. The Environmental Supervisor is not embedded in the line organization and does not replace an employee. The work is carried out independently, with the client only assessing the end result.

There is no management of the process, but only assessment of the agreed-upon results. The contractor monitors and organizes their own deployment, resources, and planning.

Omgevingsdienst Groene Metropool ensures a sustainable, safe, and healthy living environment. The service carries out tasks in the field of permitting, supervision, and enforcement (VTH) for this purpose. ODGM Zuid (Nijmegen) is looking for an environmental supervisor who can act at companies with a low compliance ethos and a tendency towards subversive behavior. This is someone who is familiar with or has experience in the waste industry, particularly, but not exclusively, with vehicle dismantling companies, both traditional and modern (professional) companies. In addition to the aforementioned tasks, you will supervise complex municipal (industrial) companies, preferably also in the drug development and production sector.

• You will independently carry out environmental supervision at companies in the Nijmegen region.
• You will focus on companies in the waste sector, including traditional and professional vehicle dismantling companies, where there may be low compliance or subversive behavior.
• You will also supervise complex municipal companies, preferably also in the field of drug development and production.
• You will act at companies where aggression, intimidation, or other undesirable behavior may occur.
• Minimum 3 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 5 years with environmental supervision and enforcement involving subversion/sensitive dossiers
• Minimum 7 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 10 years as an environmental supervisor at industrial companies
• Minimum 3 years of demonstrable work experience with collaboration with other government agencies such as police, municipality, and/or water board
• Demonstrable completed education at a minimum HBO bachelor level
• Demonstrable work experience in the past 5 years with case management system Open Wave
• Demonstrable knowledge of (complex) companies in the Nijmegen region
• You have a demonstrable completed environmental science education at a minimum HBO bachelor level
• Minimum 10 years of demonstrable work experience as an environmental supervisor at industrial companies
