FinOps Consultant

Project overview

Reinforcement of FinOps activities across three areas: public cloud technologies (AWS, GCP and S3NS), generative AI (IAG) services, and internal services.

The team handles the transverse aspect for the cloud; the consultant supports the FinOps Lead on specific missions. The position requires strong collaboration with product teams, architects, and the finance team, in order to optimize and control public cloud costs.

• Translate the FinOps Foundation framework (and Tokenomics) to the DPNT level and contribute to building the FinOps activity.
• Monitor consumption and ensure budget forecasts (public cloud scope).
• Closely support projects in their cost estimations and account optimization.
• Analyze daily alerts for budget overruns and anomalies.
• Lead FinOps acculturation webinars.
• Synchronize with other stakeholders, particularly on IAG.
• Activities: evaluate practices using the FinOps framework, prioritize actions, exchange with the FinOps community
• Deliverables: evaluation and update of the internal tool, Jira tickets from the evaluation (quarterly); FinOps requirements per persona in Confluence (semi-annually).
• Activities: maintain existing dashboards, define and implement new KPIs (IAG, on-premise) using Power BI.
• Deliverables: specification and implementation of missing KPIs across the 3 scopes, documentation of 100% of KPIs on Confluence (quarterly).
• Activities: collect budgets and roadmaps from product teams, PMO, architects, and management; consolidate in the model; report to management control and projects.
• Deliverables: exchange reports (end of May), Excel forecast file (end of May), PowerPoint presentation (mid-June), model improvement document (end of June).
• Activities: process consumption alerts, detect anomalies, identify Savings Plans and Reserved Instances.
• Deliverables: analysis of 100% of alerts (daily); savings document (weekly); SP/RI analysis (monthly).
• Activities: perform post-audit analysis of product accounts, formalize the audit, report findings, track Jira action plan, frame the use of AI agents.
• Deliverables: approximately 2 audits per month (PowerPoint or markdown) and 2 reporting meetings per month.
• Activities: support architects in cost estimation during the design phase, ad-hoc estimations upon request from product pilots.
• Deliverables: formalized estimations (AWS Calculator, Word/Excel) and budget forecast updates, monthly.
• Activities: maintain acculturation materials, lead FinOps webinars
• Deliverables: semi-annual review of PowerPoint materials; 2 webinars per year.
• Activities: evaluate AI usage for FinOps, describe FinOps processes, select eligible ones, test AI agents.
• Deliverables: process document, selection of eligible processes, test report (H1 2027).
• Synthesis and formalization skills (reports, audits, documentation).
• Technologies: AWS, GCP, S3NS, IAG (Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Mistral), Microsoft Power Platform.
• Tools: Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Microsoft Power Platform, AI agents (depending on availability).
