A growing software startup in the cloud management space from the Middle East is looking for a FinOps Specialist to create the technical foundation for its multi-cloud cost platform. The person will develop the logic for cost allocation, forecasting, and optimization, and bring the perspective of finance and technical departments into the product.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in FinOps or Cloud Cost Management, ideally with a multi-cloud focus
• Detailed understanding of billing exports from AWS, Azure, OCI, and GCP
• Experience with cost allocation, showback, chargeback, and shared cost distribution
• Knowledge of commitments such as Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and Committed Use Discounts
• Confident handling of data (SQL, Excel, or comparable analysis tools)
• Knowledge of the FinOps Foundation's FinOps framework (certification is a plus)

• Experience with FinOps tools such as Vantage, CloudZero, or Apptio Cloudability
• Experience in product development of SaaS solutions or functional conception for development teams
• Knowledge of Python for data analysis and forecasting
• Experience with budget planning and cost reporting for finance departments

• Analysis of billing data from AWS, Azure, OCI, and GCP and definition of a unified cost model (Result: data model and mapping specification)
• Conception of cost allocation across business units, tags, contracts, and shares of shared costs (Result: ruleset for allocation and chargeback)
• Definition of the forecast logic including daily rate, monthly forecast, and consumption of active commitments (Result: forecast model and calculation description)
• Design of key figures for CFO and business unit perspectives (Result: KPI catalog and dashboard requirements)
• Development of a ruleset for optimization recommendations based on the FinOps framework (Result: recommendation catalog with prioritization)
• Validation of the logic using real customer data from the pilot project (Result: test cases and acceptance criteria)
• Close collaboration with Product Management and Development on implementation
