Freelance Java Backend Developer in Banking and Finance Sector

Project overview

Dear Network,

We are currently supporting our client from the financial sector in strengthening an existing development team on short notice.

The focus is on the operation, functional further development, and interface design for central core and transaction systems. The project will initially start with a fixed budget for the year-end push.

Position: Freelance Java Backend Developer

Responsibilities

• Conception, development, and deployment of stable backend services for central institutional infrastructures
• Clean API design as well as connection and integration of relevant interfaces
• Maintenance, modernization, and continuous refactoring of established Java codebases
• Support and optimization of end-to-end monitoring to ensure smooth system operation
• Performing database analyses, creating reports, and queries on relational databases
• Support and further development of components related to automated service, transaction, and cash management systems

Requirements

• Sound, multi-year practical experience in Java development with a focus on the Spring framework (especially Spring Boot)
• Sound know-how in API and interface design
• Routine and solution-oriented handling of established legacy code and code refactoring
• Confident knowledge of relational databases and sound SQL skills
• Quick comprehension, pragmatic working style, and team player mentality
