Job description
Support the program hydrologist in drought measures within the 'Every Drop into the Ground' program. This involves calculating and testing the effects of projects on groundwater and contributing to water system analyses.
Project overview
Within the program Elke Druppel de Grond in (EDDGI) you support the program hydrologist with drought measures.
Profile of the suited interim professional:
- Calculate and test the consequences for groundwater in projects from track 1 (Demand-driven approach) and track 2 (TBO approach)
- Translate adjustments in soil heights and surface water levels into effects on groundwater levels
- Contribute to water system analyses for projects of nature management organizations
- Coordinate approach and results with the program hydrologist and other stakeholders
- Translate outcomes into clear conclusions and advice for projects
- HBO or WO diploma in hydrology, hydrogeology, water management, or a comparable field
- Knowledge of the interaction between surface water and groundwater
- Practical experience with interventions such as deepening watercourses and constructing or modifying weirs
- Proven experience with groundwater modeling (MODFLOW/AMIGO)
- Experience with assessing groundwater effects of interventions in the water system
- Preferably experience with water system analyses
- Skilled in practically interpreting and translating model results into maps, conclusions, and advice
- Able to work independently with short, substantive coordination with the program hydrologist and other disciplines
