Job description

The role involves managing the Salesforce platform's development lifecycle, from requirement analysis to production deployment and operations handover. Key responsibilities include backlog management, release planning, solution design review, and coordinating external service providers.

Responsibilities

Skills:

  • Manage the Salesforce platform's development from the review and approval of business requirements to acceptance, go-live, and operational handover.
  • Lead and prioritize the development backlog together with Business Process Owners and the Service Owner, ensuring Definition of Ready and Definition of Done.
  • Be responsible for resource, quarterly, and release planning, considering projects, Salesforce release cycles, and dependencies on external systems.
  • Review and approve solution designs, including fit-gap analysis, data model, integrations, security, permissions, and data privacy.
  • Conduct design reviews and ensure architecture governance, the 'native-first' principle, and applicable guidelines and quality gates.
  • Provide functional guidance to external service providers in a multi-provider environment, monitoring progress, quality, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Clarify responsibilities between service providers, manage escalations, and contribute to functional assessments within mini-tender processes.
  • Coordinate kick-offs, status, milestone, closing, and handover meetings, and create audience-appropriate reporting on status, risks, and actions.
  • Plan and coordinate releases, deployments, data migrations, rollbacks, cutovers, and go-lives in coordination with DevOps, business stakeholders, and external system owners.
  • Prepare and conduct acceptances with Business Process Owners, ensuring necessary sign-offs and go/no-go decision bases.
  • Be responsible for hypercare phases, stabilization, and operational handover, including operational documentation and knowledge transfer.
  • Manage problem management with root cause analyses, action tracking, and sustainable resolution of error causes.
  • Maintain and develop team charter, RACI, process documentation, roadmap, and architecture repository, and integrate lessons learned into the Platform Team's working methods.
  • Completed education or further training in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable field at the HF, FH, or University level.
  • Several years of professional experience in managing Salesforce projects, particularly in development, release, and deployment management.
  • Proven experience in the functional management of external service providers in a multi-provider environment.
  • Good knowledge of Salesforce DevOps, Salesforce DX, Git/GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, sandbox strategies, test coverage, and code quality.
  • Experience in solution design and architecture governance for integrated platforms, as well as a good understanding of data models, interfaces, security, permissions, and data privacy.
