IT Buyer / Procurement Specialist

Project overview

Our long-standing client in the insurance industry is looking for an experienced IT Buyer / Procurement Specialist on a project basis. In this position, you will be responsible for providing commercial and organizational procurement services for the acquisition of hardware, software, and IT services. A particular focus of this project is the procurement of SAP software. In this role, you will act as an independent service provider, manage your workflows independently, and prepare well-founded decision-making bases for the client's internal departments.

Responsibilities

Our Requirements

• Holistic procurement management: You will independently plan, commercially process, and document defined procurement processes for hardware, software, and IT services.
• Requirements & Offer Management: You will systematically record procurement requirements, analyze and evaluate them commercially. You will also obtain offers, review them, and prepare well-founded price and economic efficiency analyses.
• Contract Management: You will be responsible for the commercial review and preparation of upcoming contract and runtime extensions and proactively develop recommendations for action.
• Order Processing: You will prepare agreed procurement processes and securely process them using the client's designated IT applications.
• Reporting & Documentation: You will create procurement-related evaluations, documentation, and decision-ready templates for the client.
• Independent Organization: You will manage service delivery completely independently in coordination with the designated contact persons, without being integrated into the client's organizational directives.
• Sound professional experience in IT purchasing or commercial procurement management of hardware/software and IT services.
• Strong professional focus and demonstrable experience in the procurement of SAP software (licenses, contracts, services).
• Strong commercial know-how, particularly in conducting price and economic efficiency analyses and in reviewing IT contracts.
• Very high degree of independence, organizational skills, and a structured way of working as an external service provider.
• Confident use of common IT applications in the procurement environment.
• Strong communication skills for professional coordination with stakeholders and contact persons on the client side.
• Willingness for regular on-site presence (60%) at the Hanover location.
