We are currently looking for a Java Backend Developer for one of our direct clients.

Responsibilities

• Conception, development, and further development of backend services based on Java and Spring Boot
• Implementation of complex business logic as well as development and integration of REST APIs
• Development and connection of relational databases using SQL and JPA/Hibernate
• Implementation of scalable, maintainable, and performant software solutions
• Implementation of asynchronous and event-driven processes, ideally using Apache Kafka
• Contribution to the modeling of specialist domains and the implementation of domain-oriented applications
• Development and extension of frontend components with Next.js and integration into backend services
• Ensuring code quality, stability, security, and performance
• Creation and execution of unit and integration tests
• Conducting code reviews and adhering to established development standards
• Analysis and resolution of technical errors as well as support in ongoing operations
• Participation in architecture and design decisions as well as technical concepts
• Support with deployments, releases, and effort estimations

Requirements

Desired Profile: An experienced backend-oriented Fullstack Developer who particularly impresses with expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and API development, and additionally has practical knowledge of Next.js.

• Several years of in-depth experience in software development with a clear focus on the backend
• Very good practical knowledge of Java and Spring Boot
• In-depth experience in the development and integration of REST-based APIs

Project Background

As part of a comprehensive digitalization project, a new, central specialist application is being developed and introduced nationwide to support occupational health processes. The goal is to build a modern, modular, and cloud-based specialist portal that connects various user groups and specialist domains.

The technical implementation is based on a service- and domain-oriented architecture with Java and Spring Boot in the backend and Next.js in the frontend. A particular focus is on the development of high-performance backend services, stable REST interfaces, and scalable business logic. Additionally, asynchronous and event-driven communication mechanisms are used.

For this project, we are looking for an experienced Fullstack Developer with strong backend expertise and in-depth knowledge of Java and Spring Boot. Experience with Next.js is desirable but not required at a senior level.
