Job description
Seeking an experienced Microsoft Fabric Consultant for a Data Platform and Analytics program in the German Energy & Utilities sector. The role involves hands-on implementation and modernization of the data landscape using Microsoft Fabric.
Project overview
For one of our clients in the German energy and utilities sector, we are currently looking for an experienced Microsoft Fabric Consultant (m/f/d) to support an ongoing Data Platform and Analytics program.
As part of the further modernization of the data landscape, Microsoft Fabric is to be used as a central platform for the processing, integration, and provision of various corporate and energy data. Therefore, we are not looking for a purely conceptual consultant, but for a freelancer with experience in building modern data platforms who can also provide hands-on support in implementation.
Responsibilities
- Conception and further development of a Data & Analytics Platform based on Microsoft Fabric
- Building and optimizing Lakehouse and Data Warehouse architectures
- Development of data pipelines for integrating various source systems
- Modeling and transformation of data for analytics and reporting applications
- Working with Fabric Data Factory, OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, and Power BI
- Support with architectural decisions regarding data models, governance, and scalability
- Collaboration with Data Engineers, Data Architects, and business departments
- Transitioning existing data processes into a modern Fabric-based target architecture
Requirements
Project Environment
The client is undergoing a major data modernization, with the aim of centralizing data more strongly in the future and making it available for analytics, forecasting, and operational use cases.
Freelancers who have accompanied Microsoft Fabric projects from architecture to productive implementation and do not exclusively come from classic Power BI reporting are therefore particularly interesting.
- Several years of project experience in the field of Data Engineering / Data Platforms
- Practical project experience with Microsoft Fabric
- Very good knowledge of SQL
- Experience with Data Lakes, Lakehouse architectures, and ETL/ELT processes
- Experience with Power BI and ideally semantic models
- Knowledge of Azure Data Services is an advantage
- Experience with PySpark / Python is a plus

- Ability to translate architecture and technical concepts with business departments and technical stakeholders
