Network Engineer (Design)

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer (Design) for an international company at the Munich and Düsseldorf locations. This role offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid work model (2 days per week on-site).

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the daily planning and implementation of LAN/WAN and wireless production networks in a global environment. Your tasks include designing highly available and fault-tolerant network solutions, creating low-level designs (configurations, cabling, diagrams), and supporting wireless design and signal optimization. You will work closely with Real Estate and Service Delivery teams, perform error analysis, manage vendor lifecycles, and evaluate managed service providers.

Requirements

You have extensive experience with Aruba Wireless (design, management, standardization) and work confidently in global enterprise environments. Knowledge of Wireless Survey Tools (Airwave VisualRF, Ekahau, or AirMagnet), High-Density Wireless Network Design, and solid knowledge in routing/switching are required. SD-WAN experience (VeloCloud) and a deep understanding of 802.11, RF propagation, and antenna technologies are advantageous. Experience with Voice over Wireless (e.g., Microsoft Teams) completes the profile.

Technical Focus:

SD-WAN, Routing, Switching, Wireless, Security, and Cloud Technologies. Experience with manufacturers such as Aruba, Arista, Fortinet, and Zscaler is desirable.

Framework:

Contract: 6 months (with extension option)

Utilization: 100%

Language Requirement: Good German required (B2 minimum; B1 with progression to B2 possible)
