Project Management SAP S/4HANA EWM / Logistics Transformation

Project overview

Initial Situation:

An experienced freelance project manager is sought for a strategically important, cross-functional transformation project in the energy sector. The project's goal is the further development of material management and logistics, as well as the transition from WM to SAP S/4HANA EWM.

The project includes the areas of logistics, purchasing, IT, controlling, and process management. In addition to the introduction of SAP S/4HANA EWM, the focus is on the further development of processes, roles, and organizational structures, as well as the sustainable anchoring of changes.

An experienced project manager is sought who will ideally accompany the project over its entire duration and manage an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Steer the project across departments (deadlines, budget, risks, decision needs)
• Moderate interests and conflicting interests
• Prepare management and executive decisions
• Further develop processes, roles, and organization, anchor change
• Set up KPIs and cost control (logistics costs, availability, inventory differences)
• Steer the selection and introduction of the system solution (S/4HANA EWM)
• Structure and steer the project across all involved departments
• Ensure the implementation of agreed measures and address obstacles early on

Requirements

• Management of cross-functional projects, project steering:
• System selection and business case
• SAP S/4HANA EWM: Introduction, interfaces to ERP
• Role and process development warehouse, change management
• KEWM processes and warehouse logistics, material management
• Cutover, data migration, acceptance (ERP/EWM)
• KPI and cost control (logistics costs, availability)
• Leadership without direct authority
• Moderation of conflicting interests
• Communication with management, decision proposals
• Structured, reliable, independent way of working

Project details

Approx. 30 months (January 2027 to end of Q2/2029)

Utilization: Approx. 50% (approx. 2.5 days/week or 120 days per year; 300 days total)
