Senior Data Engineer – Cloud Data Migration

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer for a challenging data transformation project in the Enterprise Cloud sector. You will be responsible for the data engineering layer of a comprehensive migration project, transferring critical finance and HR reporting workloads to a modern cloud platform.

Your responsibilities include analyzing and reconstructing complex data flows, ingesting data from various ERP systems, and designing scalable data models with a multi-layered architecture (Raw, Curated, Reporting). You will develop complex data structures such as hierarchies, time-dependent master data, and dimensional models, applying best practices for data modeling.

A key focus is on orchestrating and monitoring data pipelines with automated error handling, as well as implementing comprehensive security measures including access control and data protection. You will optimize workloads for performance and cost efficiency and establish automated data quality controls and reconciliation processes.

Furthermore, you will prepare high-quality, AI-ready datasets for Advanced Analytics and Predictive Use Cases and support downstream reporting and analytics solutions. You will document data flows, transformation logic, and source-to-target mappings, working closely with business, finance, HR, and technical teams.

Required are at least 5 years of professional experience in Data Engineering with 3+ years of practical experience in modern cloud data platforms. You have advanced SQL and Python skills, experience with data orchestration and transformation, and a deep understanding of dimensional modeling and data architectures. Experience with ERP systems and their integration into cloud environments is required.

The engagement is limited to 3 months and takes place on-site.
