Senior Embedded Linux Platform Engineer

Project overview

For an exciting project, we are looking for a Senior Embedded Linux Platform Engineer. Your tasks include:

Further development, maintenance, and hardening of an embedded Linux platform for robotics and industrial systems.

Optimization and automation of Linux image build, test, and release processes using Git and CI/CD (Azure DevOps).

Maintenance of Linux kernel, bootloader, firmware, drivers, system services, and network configurations.

Operation and further development of containerized applications (Docker/OCI).

Development of secure OTA update, rollback, and recovery concepts for embedded systems.

Implementation of REST APIs for version management, software distribution, and monitoring.

Implementation of security requirements such as secure boot, software signing, authentication, and audit logging.

Setup of automated tests as well as monitoring and diagnostic mechanisms.

Requirements

Embedded Linux and Linux system architecture

Multi-Node Systems: Experience with distributed systems and the coordination of multiple compute nodes

Linux System Management: Experience with kernel, bootloader, firmware, device trees, drivers, system services, and Linux configurations.

Linux Image Management

Secure Update Management: Ability to implement or improve secure update solutions for Linux images, system components, containers, and configuration data.

Rollback & Recovery: Experience with rollback and recovery mechanisms, especially in case of failed updates or system failures.

Test-Driven Development (TDD)

CI/CD & Automation: Experience with automated build, test, and release processes as well as Git.

Troubleshooting: Ability to independently analyze and solve technical problems in complex embedded Linux systems.

Fluent English skills
