The work is predominantly remote; Frankfurt am Main is listed as the project location. Approximately 45 days per year on-site for technical coordination. The work must be performed in Germany (Onshore). Freelancers welcome, all must-haves met!

We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Developer for an agile DevOps team that develops and operates a platform for network-wide traffic operation simulation. The platform answers questions about punctuality, capacity, and the effects of construction measures. It runs as a cloud application on AWS with an Angular frontend, Python backend (FastAPI), serverless data pipelines, and a C++ simulation engine. Work is done in a mono-repository with GitLab, fully automated CI/CD pipelines, and in sprints/PIs. AI-assisted development in agent mode is an integral part of daily work.

• Further development and maintenance of an Angular-22 web application with Standalone Components and signal-based state management
• Implementation of data-driven analysis views (time series, maps, tables, time-distance diagrams) based on a KPI framework with GraphQL connection
• Further development of WebGL-based map visualization (Deck.gl) for infrastructures and vehicle movements
• Development of editor interfaces for various data objects (timetable, infrastructure, master data, model parameters)
• Development and maintenance of reusable UI components based on a company-wide design system
• Connection of REST and GraphQL interfaces as well as Protobuf-based data communication
• Reduction of technical debt: Resolution of architectural violations, migration from Leaflet to Deck.gl, increase in test coverage
• Conception and execution of automated tests (unit, E2E)
• Development of REST endpoints in the Python backend (FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy) including schema migrations (Alembic, PostgreSQL)
• Extension of a GraphQL API (Ariadne) for the evaluation of large result data sets (Athena/Parquet)
• Further development of serverless data pipelines (AWS Lambda, Batch, S3, Glue) for import, ETL, and simulation runs
• End-to-end implementation of features across frontend, API, and pipeline
• Senior experience in Angular development including a leading role in module and component interfaces and state management strategy, experience level in years (> 5 years experience)
• Architectural further development of established applications across frontend and backend (module interfaces, layer boundaries, resolution of architectural violations), experience level in years (> 5 years experience)
• Practical experience with agent-based, AI-assisted software development (agent mode, not just auto-completion) with tools like Kiro, Claude Code, Cursor, or OpenCode, number of references 2
• Python web APIs with FastAPI and Pydantic as well as relational data storage via SQLAlchemy including schema migrations, number of references 2
• Development and implementation of algorithms for planning in freight transport, number of references 1
