Senior SAP ECC Migration Specialist – Archiving, Data Migration and Decommissioning 24+ months (adhoc) in Copenhagen/Hybrid

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on SAP ECC Migration Specialist for a long-term project involving archiving, data migration, and decommissioning of SAP ECC after the implementation of SAP S/4HANA.

The project is carried out in a GxP-regulated environment, where historical data and documents must be preserved with traceability and data integrity.

The consultant will have professional responsibility for the archiving and migration strategy, as well as the technical execution on the SAP ECC side, in close collaboration with IT, QA, the internal project manager, and external vendors.

The role is technical and hands-on – not a project management position.

Project management, budget, governance, organizational change management, and overall Enterprise Architecture are outside the scope of this role. Configuration and implementation of OpenText and eQMS will be performed by the respective vendors.

The new eQMS is expected to go live in H1 2028, while SAP ECC is expected to be decommissioned in H2 2028. The final timeline is under development.

Practical Information

• Mapping of SAP ECC data models, tables, objects, documents, and system dependencies, including data not migrated to S/4HANA.
• Determination of archiving scope, deletion, and retention requirements in collaboration with business, IT, and QA, as well as design and execution of archiving to OpenText Extended ECM.
• Ensuring that archived data remains accessible, searchable, and traceable throughout the retention period, including for reporting and inspection after SAP ECC is closed.
• Migration of GxP documents and quality data from SAP ECC/QDOK to a new eQMS, and non-GxP documents to OpenText.
• Classification of data in collaboration with QA, and handling of metadata, version history, audit trails, and electronic signatures.
• Hands-on data extraction, mapping, transformation, and delivery of data in the agreed format for vendor loading.
• Planning and execution of test migrations, error handling, and final migration at cutover.
• Definition of requirements for vendor data loading, challenging their solution design, and verification through data reconciliation, key figures, spot checks, and acceptance criteria.
• Preparation of GxP/CSV migration documentation together with the Validation Lead, including strategies, plans, specifications, verification protocols, test results, and deviation reports for QA approval.
• Delivery of technical estimates, risk assessments, and decision proposals to the project manager.
• Support for SAP ECC decommissioning, including ensuring that all relevant data and documents are verified and that no critical data dependencies remain.
• Senior SAP profile with typically 8+ years of SAP experience.
• Documented hands-on experience with SAP ECC archiving and data migration.
• In-depth knowledge of SAP ECC data models, tables, and dependencies across modules.
• Experience with SAP ECC decommissioning.
• Experience with complex projects involving multiple vendors.
• Strong documentation skills and ability to translate technical matters into clear recommendations and decision proposals.
• Independent, structured, detail-oriented, and good at collaborating with IT, QA, and external vendors.
• English at negotiation level, written and spoken.
• SAP ILM, SAP Data Archiving (ADK), and retention management.
• OpenText Extended ECM for SAP Solutions and/or OpenText Archiving for SAP.
• SAP DMS and document management in SAP ECC.
• ABAP data extraction, SAP Data Services, or equivalent ETL tools.
• Life Science / GxP-regulated environments.
• Migration to cloud-based eQMS solutions.
• Document migration with version history, metadata, audit trails, and electronic signatures (21 CFR Part 11 / EU GMP Annex 11).
• Danish is an advantage.
• Duration: Until H2 2028 with possibility for extension.
