Senior SAP HCM for S/4HANA (H4S4) Migration Lead

Project overview

Initial Situation:

The current project involves the migration of SAP HCM on ECC 6.0 (EHP7) to SAP HCM for S/4HANA (H4S4) in the Private Cloud Edition. Approximately 10,400 employees in seven countries and several time recording systems are affected. A Bluefield approach is being pursued for the migration. The existing SAP system will be selectively transferred to the existing S/4HANA system, with HCM receiving its own client.

The first pilot migration is planned for January 2027. The go-live is scheduled for January 1, 2028, at the latest.

An experienced functional lead for the technical H4S4 migration is sought.

Responsibilities

• Functional lead for the technical H4S4 migration, counterpart to the (already assigned) organizational project management
• Evaluation of Readiness Check and Simplification Item Check, deriving measures and work packages from them
• Planning and implementation of preliminary projects, including Business Partner synchronization, Custom Code adaptation, decommissioning of no longer supported functions
• Coordination of the migration path with stakeholders (Bluefield, client, data transfer), keeping dependencies to the S/4HANA stream in mind
• Preparation and execution of the pilot migration starting January 2027 and further test migrations, cutover planning
• Preparation of effort estimates, risks, and clarification points for project management
• Guidance and quality assurance of junior consultants in the project
• Possibility of further assignments in subsequent H4S4 projects

Requirements

• Several completed migrations from SAP HCM to SAP HCM for S/4HANA (H4S4), with at least one as a technical or functional lead
• Technical migration path H4S4: Readiness Check, Simplification Item Check, preliminary projects, decommissioning of no longer supported functions
• Selective data transfer or system consolidation: client concept, histories, organizational structure
• Broad SAP HCM knowledge (PA, OM, PT, PY including schemas and PCRs) to assess migration impacts
• Planning and execution of test and pilot migrations, cutover planning
• Assumes functional responsibility and makes independent decisions without close supervision
• Provides effort estimates, work packages, and risks to project management
• Confident in client contact with HR and IT, leads workshops
• Guides junior consultants and shares knowledge
• Manages external partners (e.g., SNP) and dependencies with other streams
