Responsibilities

• Capture, analyze requirements and translate them into viable S/4HANA solutions.
• Analyze and further develop SAP EAM processes for maintenance orders and PM notifications.
• Develop with ABAP OO and test with ABAP Unit; implement enhancements for condition assessments, checkpoints, deviations, and measures.
• Consider interfaces to mobile applications and downstream processes.
• Ensure quality with Clean Code, Code Reviews, and automated tests; accompany manual backend tests and rollouts.
• Contribute to sustainable software architecture; work closely with PO and subject matter experts and support colleagues.

• ABAP OO on S/4HANA -> several years of practical experience in ABAP OO development for SAP S/4HANA.
• Tools (Client Requirement) -> complete work with ABAP Development Tools (ADT) for Eclipse – no classic Workbench.
• SAP EAM -> experience with SAP EAM and maintenance processes, especially PM notifications.
• Data Modeling -> sound knowledge of SQL and ABAP Core Data Services (CDS).
• Frontend (Client Requirement) -> comprehensive experience with SAPUI5 Freestyle AND SAP Fiori Elements – the role is not purely backend-oriented.
• Work Style -> experience in agile teams; structured, independent, team-oriented with a high quality standard.
• Presence -> at least two days per week on-site; collaboration predominantly on-site.
• Quality Understanding -> Software Craftsmanship as a lived practice – Clean Code, SOLID, and OO Design Patterns.
• Technical Onboarding -> quickly grasp complex processes and solve them in a technically sustainable way.
• Language (Mandatory) -> German C2 – set as an exclusion criterion.
• SAP S/4HANA EAM, especially PM and/or QM.
• Inspection and testing processes in asset management, ideally for bridges and tunnels.
• Mobile applications and their integration with SAP.
• ABAP Unit, Code Reviews, and automated tests.
• Scrum and/or SAFe as well as Jira and Confluence.
• Remote Policy -> 40% on-site at the client / 60% Home Office

For our end client from the Swiss transport and infrastructure sector, we are looking for a Senior SAP Software Engineer for ABAP development on SAP S/4HANA as follows:

Background & Mandate:

The end client is replacing a specialized application and will henceforth map the monitoring, inspection, and maintenance planning of engineering structures and tunnels in SAP S/4HANA – using SAP EAM processes related to maintenance orders and PM notifications. Inspection results, condition assessments, and maintenance suggestions should be recorded comprehensibly and used for reporting and planning, including integration with mobile applications.

We are looking for reinforcement for an agile development team where software quality and software craftsmanship shape the daily work.
