Senior Technical-Functional Consultant for SaaS Application Migration (Carve-out)

Project overview

As part of its separation from its parent group (carve-out), our client, an international consulting firm, is looking for an Operational Project Manager / AMOA Consultant to lead the transition of its SaaS application portfolio: about fifty HR, finance, and daily tools applications.

The role covers application inventory and mapping with business units, portfolio rationalization, publisher contract management, data migration, and SSO switch to the new Microsoft 365 / Entra ID tenant.

The position requires proven experience in application migration or transition, good technical knowledge (SSO, Entra ID), and a good level of English to interact with international teams, users, and publishers.

• Inventory SaaS applications in conjunction with business units and users from different countries.
• Analyze their usage, users, owners, and criticality level.
• Decide with the client on the retention, abandonment, or replacement of each application, prioritizing about ten key applications.
• Gather and formalize business needs for each application, including data to be transferred.
• Identify personal data concerned and ensure GDPR compliance: Data Processing Agreements (DPA), deletion or archiving on the group's side.
• Write migration procedures per application: steps, responsible parties, acceptance testing, rollback.
• Organize acceptance testing and validation with users.
• Transfer contracts for applications used solely by the client to the client.
• Arrange for dedicated accounts and contracts to be opened for applications shared with the group.
• Manage communications with publishers, follow up with less responsive ones, and prepare internal validation elements.
• Map connection methods (SSO SAML/OIDC, provisioning, connectors) and the compatibility of each application with two tenants in parallel.
• Coordinate data migration with publishers or, failing that, with users.
• Gather SSO parameters from publishers and write Entra ID configuration instructions for the internal IT team.
• Track progress application by application, risks, dependencies, and blockers.
• Lead regular progress meetings (2 to 3 per week) with the CIO.
• Document decisions and procedures.
