Strategic Buyer – High-Voltage Substations

Project overview

An international energy company is seeking an experienced Strategic Buyer for work on high-voltage substations. You will strengthen the dynamic team at the Brussels location and be responsible for the entire procurement process for your category.

Your tasks include managing the complete purchasing process from market publication through bid analysis and negotiations to project award. You will develop tender procedures, define procurement strategies based on market knowledge, and work closely with project teams, contract managers, and internal experts. In doing so, you will build expertise in your category and contribute to the medium-term category strategy.

You will support multifunctional teams in identifying business requirements and improvement opportunities. During the project lifecycle, you will oversee commercial and contractual execution, negotiate additional costs, and ensure compliance with contractual terms. Building sustainable relationships with contractors is also part of your responsibilities, as is contributing to the shaping of new working methods within the team.

You bring several years of experience as a (strategic) buyer or procurement specialist, ideally in the field of construction or electrical works at a medium level. You have experience in conducting complete tender procedures, defining procurement and category strategies, and in the commercial and contractual support of projects. Negotiation and stakeholder management skills are essential. You speak fluent Dutch and English.

The position is designed as hybrid with two days on-site per week in Brussels. Full-time employment begins in November 2026 and runs until the end of 2028.
