We are now looking for a strategic buyer (Sourcing Manager) for an exciting consultancy assignment with our client in the defense industry in Linköping. Here you will have the opportunity to work in an international and technology-intensive operation where business strategy, supplier collaboration, and advanced technology meet.

We are looking for someone who has experience in driving complex business deals and who thrives in a role with significant commercial responsibility, many points of contact, and long-term supplier relationships.

About the assignment

As a strategic buyer, you will have a central role in developing and ensuring long-term sustainable business arrangements with the client's suppliers. You will be responsible for the entire commercial process, from purchasing strategy and contract negotiation to monitoring supplier performance.

You will work closely with functions within production, development, marketing, and aftermarket in an international environment where the business deals are often complex and technically advanced.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement purchasing strategies in defined areas.

Negotiate commercial terms and establish supplier agreements.

Lead and coordinate cross-functional supplier teams.

Establish, develop, and maintain long-term supplier relationships.

Monitor and analyze supplier performance regarding cost, lead time, quality, and delivery capability.

Drive strategic initiatives with a focus on business benefit, efficiency, and long-term development.

Ensure a holistic perspective on costs and business value throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Requirements

To be considered for the assignment, we expect you to have:

An academic degree in economics or another relevant discipline.

Several years of experience from business-driven roles, such as strategic purchasing, procurement, or contract management.

Experience with commercial negotiations in complex and international environments.

Ability to understand and analyze total costs from a lifecycle perspective.

Experience with cross-functional collaboration in larger organizations.

A technical interest and understanding of technically complex operations.

Good ability to build and develop long-term business relationships.

Very good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

A structured and business-minded approach with the ability to independently drive initiatives forward.

It is particularly relevant if you have experience from technical projects or operations within defense, aviation, or industrial production.

Assignment period: 12 months

Scope: Full-time

Consultant level: Level 3 (approx. 3–7 years of relevant experience)

Security clearance: The assignment is security-classified and requires an approved security clearance according to current regulations.

This is a consultancy assignment where you will have the opportunity to contribute to a socially important operation and at the same time develop within strategic purchasing in an international and technically advanced environment.
