🏠 1 day of remote work / week - 📍 Grenoble (38) - Crolles - 🛠 Minimum 10 years of experience
Design a radio protocol from A to Z, from its architecture to its certification: this is the core of this mission.
We are currently looking for an Embedded Systems & Radio Protocols Engineer to work with one of our clients on a project to develop a new Sub-GHz radio protocol (434 / 868 MHz).
The objective: to design a reliable, secure, and standards-compliant communication solution capable of connecting control panels, detectors, sirens, manual triggers, and repeaters.
You will be involved in the entire design cycle, from initial specifications to RF prototypes, through to certification testing.
Your mission: design an end-to-end radio protocol
You will work on the protocol architecture, its embedded implementation, and its validation.
Specifically, you will be responsible for:
The challenge is therefore not limited to firmware development: you will need to consider the overall system behavior, from RF constraints to security and certification requirements.
- Defining the common radio protocol architecture for intrusion and fire systems: network organization, communication between devices, supervision, and alarm management.
- Designing Sub-GHz communication mechanisms: channel access, frequency management, synchronization, message prioritization, and latency control.
- Translating regulatory constraints into technical requirements, then modeling network behavior and validating architectural choices on RF prototypes.
- Specifying and developing the protocol stack on STM32, integrating necessary security mechanisms, including AES-128-CCM encryption and anti-replay protection.
- Designing supervision and safety functions: jamming detection, anti-masking, link monitoring, and communication fault management.
- Writing technical specifications and supporting validation and certification tests with laboratories and notified bodies.
