Experienced System Engineer for Mainframe/z/OS needed for a hybrid role in Munich, focusing on administration, support, optimization, and automation of test systems.
Project overview
We are looking for an experienced System Engineer Mainframe / z/OS for a permanent position in IT Infrastructure & Operations. The position is hybrid and located in Munich.
In this role, you will be responsible for the administration and support of test systems in the Mainframe and IBM environment, with a particular focus on optimizing and automating processes. You will ensure that the systems run efficiently and support internal teams in providing test environments.
Responsibilities
We expect:
Experience with agile methods, strong communication and teamwork skills, and willingness to work overtime as needed are advantageous.
The position is limited to 4-6 months with an option for extension and offers flexible hybrid work structures.
- Administration and operation of test systems in the Mainframe/IBM area
- Optimization and automation of installation and process workflows through scripting
- Provision of technical 2nd and 3rd level support
- Collaboration with DevSecOps teams and test environments
- Ensuring daily batch processing
- Independent identification of optimization potential
- Completed studies in (Business) Informatics or comparable qualification/many years of relevant experience
- Several years of professional experience with IBM Mainframe and z/OS (ideally with TWS, JCL, REXX)
- Experience in scripting and database work (DB2, possibly Oracle, SQL)
- Fluent German (C1) and good English (B2) skills
